Amazing service and comfort
The best way to travel between Hanoi and Sapa. We had two private cabins for our family of 6. Great communication from the booking team and super easy seamless transfers etc. the cabins are amazing and we all slept like babies on the overnight trip in both directions. Highly recommended experience.
Nice and cosy cabin
The cabin we stayed was a new version (white) as compared to the “reddish” version found on the website. The train cabin and toilet were clean. The service crews were helpful to ensure we get settled in well.
Hanoi to Lao Cai
The train was very clean and comfortable. It was surprisingly quiet too.
Great Experience
Overall it was great experience and pleasant journey. Climbing to upper berth is inconvenient. Not enough hold points. Should avoid upper birth.

Le rdv à la gare est très bien expliqué. On a été guidé jusqu’au train sans soucis. Les couchettes sont confortables et très propres. Un Service de qualité, Bravo!
Pleasant train ride, helpful station staff
I had to carry my bicycle on the train and the Chapa rep was very responsive and communicative before I bought my ticket about how this would work. When I arrived, the station staff helped me with my bike and gave detailed instructions on how to retrieve it once arriving in Lao Cai. I enjoyed the cabin, it was stylish and the air conditioning worked well. I got great sleep! I would happily recommend Chapa :)
Very pleasant experience
We took the train from Lao Cai to Hanoi last week. We booked a VIP (2 bed) cabin. It was a very pleasant and interesting experience. The room and bed linen were clean. There were complementary water bottles and snacks in the cabin. Additionally, staff went around and offered extra drinks for free. The bathroom was clean. I would travel with Chapa Express again.
Night train
Hanoi to Sapa, great service, but a lot of noises from underneath the carriage. Sapa to Hanoi, much better.
Treno pulitissimo un orario e molto confortevole
Ho prenotato la suite cabin per due. Cambina con lenzuola pulitissime, frutta acqua e biscotti oltre ad una bevanda offerta. Treno pulito puntuale e letto molto confortevole
